Haiku Blogfest

The bleeding sun shrinks

behind the island's shoulder--

slumbering dragon.

crow clouds

swirl in the updrafts.

Holy haiku, Batgirl, it's Stephanie Thornton's Haiku Blogfest today and Saturday. I've got another photo and haiku for tomorrow. Head on over to Stephanie's blog to click on the other poems--everything from haunting to hilarious.

I love your haiku(s). My hubby writes some pretty darn good ones too. Me? Not so much.

Love haikus. Especially zombie ones, but I'm weird like that.

The slumbering dragon haiku might be my all time favorite!

I can't wait to have some time this weekend to sit down and read all of the lovely haikus.

Great images in both of these! But I expected nothing less :) I love the slumbering dragon line--it really calls to my youthful imaginings!

Heart stopping, as always. That I can't write haiku doesn't mean I can't revel in its beauty (I can't play the violin either). Your haiku always speak to me. Looking forward to tomorrow.

I can't write haikus. Maybe because I can't or maybe because we always had to do it in school and I just can't make myself do it. But these are awesome!

Hello there! Found your blog through Karen's Labor Day Blog BBQ :) Love your photo and your haikus! I was drawn to visit your blog because I also use photos on my blog - a daily writing prompt community. I write about the photo of the day and commenters are invited to write as well. Looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful work.

Not ready to show any to the world yet, lest the entire universe laugh so hard it shakes the earth which could cause a ONE WORLD EARTH QUAKE. Yikes. :)

But yours are totally awesome, yet another one of your strengths, Pat.

Your haiku are beautiful, as is the accompanying photo. If only I could write so well. (I disguise my inability to write with humor.)

Looking forward to reading today's entry.

You know when I started planning this blogfest, I immediately thought of you. I'm so glad you joined in!

I love that first one- the slumbering dragon is just a great image. But then I always love your haikus!

I love haikus. The "bleeding sun/slumbering dragon" haiku was beautifully evocative of the photo!
