Walking on the sky

I went for a walk in a cloudburst of hail and rain and found--a portal.
*
What land is this where the sky is torn and lies beneath my feet?
*
I have walked this path a hundred times and never seen this place.
*
Between dimensions.
*
A pause.

Oh wow, isn't that gorgeous? Isn't it marvelous how you can find something new in every walk. Nature is wonderful that way :) So are your words.

I find something fresh and new every time I walk our pasture, every time I read my Bible. Love the pic. Lovely, Pat, as usual. Wish that I could write like you.

Friendship Bridge is awesome. I'm standing there with you. :-)

Beautiful. I love how something seen everyday can become something new.

Wen: Awhile back I decided to really look around me when I walk. I mean, more than I usually do. On this walk, I was hunkered down in my thoughts and under my umbrella. The scene when I focused on it stopped me short. What a treat unfolded.

Robyn: Isn't Friendship Bridge great? It sits atop a small mountain (where I often take these hikes) in the middle of a city. It was built a century ago to promote peace between the people of the world. I love it.

Bish: I was astounded that this path so often trod delivered this scene. I'm grateful to nature for the gifts it gives me.

WordsCrafter: Oh, thank you! *smiles broadly*

Wow!Sounds like one of those pathways between worlds in The Golden Compass.

lovely pic - lovely words - it's wonderful when we really 'see' what's around us! :)

Donna: Yes! It does feel like those portals in The Golden Compass. To think I might have really walked into the sky...

Jemi: Discoveries like this make this world never boring. ;)

Wonderful words here, Tricia. I'm new to your blog. I've come via Tracy of Phoenix fame.

I once went to school with a girl named Tricia O'Brien, though I doubt you and she are the same. This was in Australia in the late 1960s.

I'm pleased to meet you Tricia.

Tricia J. O'Brien said...

PaulC: I get the feeling you've stood there, too.

Elisabeth: Hi and welcome! I adore Tracy, and I'm so glad you came by. But I'm not your old school chum, I'm afraid. The closest I've been to Australia was some wild tourists I once met in Hawaii. :)

The words are as beautiful as the photo, leaving me mellow and calm and soothed.

How fortunate you are to have public places such as this to walk through. It's foggy here this morning and chilly. I'm so weary of chill.

This is truly lovely...especially the words.

"I have walked this path a hundred times and never seen this place."

Sigh.

Such a stunning post! The photo both calms and beckons, and your words are like a deep breath.

Judy: So happy to soothe!

Yvonne: Sorry I can't take you with me except by post. It is lovely to have places to walk.

Shelley: Thank you. I am so amazed at how I can be surprised by things I've seen so often.

Viva: Oh, thank you! :D

Now this is truly enchanting. Thank you. Not that I'd like to be walking in those conditions, but then I'd miss the portal.

I was in that cloudburst too. Why the heck didn't I see a portal???? Jeez. Some gals have all the luck :P Maybe I should walk with you next hailstorm!

This dovetails so nicely with your "About Me" paragraph. Every moment is a place we have never been before. There is just the one. each. here. gone.

It is a fine thing to live in an alien moment. Even having been there before, it is a new unknown when we drop our lizard scales and feel with new skin.

Tricia J. O'Brien said...

Rilla: You're most welcome to walk with me! Even down by the sea. :)
I'm good at portals.

Wine&Words: Hello, how lovely of you to ntoice that connection (I didn't!) I love the notion of dropping our scales and feeling with new skin.

I so love these photos. Did you take this? I'm asking because I have one similiar from a kayak trip we took last year.
Love it!

Tricia J. O'Brien said...

Terry: Yes, I took it on my phone camera! It's so handy, like in a hail storm. Ha. Thank you.
