Words are hard to find today

My mother died today.

Quietly, they say,

while someone put lotion on her feet.

She did not always find peace

in this world.

I pray she's found it now.

After all these hard miles, Mom,

I love you still and forever.

Oh Tricia, my heart goes out to you and your family at this time. I'm so sad to hear the news.

Oh, I'm so sad. But to die while someone is rubbing lotion on your feet? My mother likes it when I,or anyone, does that. And sometimes I rub essential oil in the soles of her feet. Now I want to rush right down there and do it again.

What a hard post to write. I wonder if I could do it. I'm so sorry, Tricia. Tears and a hug.

There is something more to life than the surface of what we experience while alive; and if this is truly the case, then death, too, is but a think veil over a greater purpose.

May she find peace.

Such sad news. You've had so many ups and downs with her...at least now she's resting peacefully.

Oh, Tricia, I'm so, so sorry. I've been thinking about you and your mother a lot lately, wondering how her hip was healing. Your poem is beautiful and sorrowful at the same time. Heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. Hugs and prayers, too.

When last we "spoke" I got the sense her time was near. I'm glad she went peacefully into that great good-night.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
