Nice Haiku, Tricia.

Funny....I was walking yesterday and took a similar picture, but looking up at wintering Queen Anne's Lace.

Beautiful haiku and the photo is magic. Makes me feel as though I'm lying on my back looking up at the trees - something I love to do.

You have an elegant way with words.

Yay, you kept your haiku promise to us. Lying under wind-blown palms gives me a feeling of flight.

I can certainly imagine the whipping wind! Seems we've had lots of it lately. This Haiku is full of imagery. Loved it!

Yvonne: Like minds. :D

VR: Thanks. These palms, Queen, I think, are so very, very tall. They tower, but I noticed these two leaning towards each other and couldn't resist the shot.

Thank you, Tamika! Elegant is a mighty fine word to bestow. :)

Donna: I believe in promises and dreams and wishes and flying. ;)

Thank you, Catherine! I love playing with imagery.

Tricia--I have a feeling you talked about using all of your senses to observe the world around you at the conference you just went to. :-)

You are a poet. Do you know it?

:)

Yes! Palms can squawk-squawk. Oh...and I've given you an AWARD Tricia. Come on and check it out.

I have a plan frond in the opening scene of my WIP! :)
No crows though. :(

Ok, it's been way too long since I've seen a palm tree. I love your posts because they make me feel like I've been on a walk with you!

Great picture and nice haiku!

Your words perfectly match that image. I love it!

Sharon: This panel was speaking primarily about place, but I have always found that being in nature makes me hyper aware of my senses. Almost as though they are awakened, renewed.

Terresa: hee-hee. Wonderful words from you--an amazing poet.

Bish: I knew you would have heard them speak. ;) I'll be on over, thank you.

Karen: One year during a West Nile outbreak all the crows disappeared. It was very eerie not to see them around, strutting and cawing.

LiLa: I love to think you are along for my walks. :)

Thanks BJ!

We've been having fun with haiku in this house. You do it much better than we do!

I can hear it! I can hear it!!!

Jsut beautiful, Tricia. And the photograph? Stunning.

I long to see a palm tree right now. To hear it swishing in the wind...a new kind of crow. ;)

Really lovely, Tricia. You are a haiku queen!

I was sitting at the beach today, without my camera, looking at three rows of different colored clouds and I thought of Tricia, who loves the sky. I don't know palm trees, so this helped me learn.

Tricia J. O'Brien said...

Tess: Ha! I love that, thanks.

Sherrie: How wonderful you are playing with haiku. I love the way it lets me give a flash picture of something in nature.

Carolina: Yay, you made my day! I'm glad I brought it to you.

Mel: Aw, shucks. Should I get a tiara?

Liza: Oh, I'm honored you thought of me when looking at the sky. Palm trees come in so many varieties, but these were the super tall ones.

Nice haiku Pat. I ain't kidding. =)

I have started my foray into the lovely world of haiku. Maybe after a while, I shall share some with you. ONLY YOU! =)

Happy weekend.

so cool.

Can you see the face in the clouds?

Shelley

Tricia J. O'Brien said...

Hi Shelley: Oh my, I hadn't seen that face until you sent me looking for it. Very defined lips and big nose--a giant of sorts.

Tricia J. O'Brien said...

Robyn! I didn't see you there. You must've been hiding. Come out, come out and whisper your haiku.
Happy weekend to you, too.

Great pic and Haiku. I can just picture then waving in the wind, creaking and swishing. Those things are so TALL!

Tricia J. O'Brien said...

Angela: Thank you--wonderful praise from you! They are so tall. I once watched a tree trimmer, who was a native of Samoa, get stuck when he went up. It was scary for a bit but he made it down okay.

Beautiful picture - makes me excited for summer weather and blue skies (palm trees would be nice, too...)

Gorgeous picture as always. The sight of palm trees makes my heart long for summer someplace warm and bright. Love the haiku - I can see the trees swaying in the wind.
