Life in balance

one passage of time,

bright day equal to black night,

a world in balance.

Today's vernal equinox--the first day of Spring--arrived at its earliest time since 1896.

As the sun crosses the celestial equator, the time between sunrise and sunset is about twelve hours--a balanced day, in perfect halves.

With Spring comes thawing, hatching, blossoming, renewal of life, as well. Time to unfurl and reach for the sky.

The precision of the universe, the cycle of birth and death and birth, the beauty of continual creation renews me, too.

Happy Spring to all.

Thanks for the reminder of the first day of spring. We've had seventy-degree weather now for a week (yes, in Michigan!) so the idea of spring has slipped my mind. I love the photos from NASA. It is so sad to me that we've underfunded the space agency. And now there's talk of privitizing space exploration. Everything seems wrong. Except for your post.

The knowledge that today marks a change in the world is somehow reassuring to me. Things have a way of going on, don't they?

It's been a year of great changes for my family, but we keep going on, Winter into Spring....because that is the way of things.

Pictures are gorgeous.

Yvonne: I know everything seems off these days, so I'm glad we're trying to keep our voices heard, at least. Step by step.

Shelley: That is one of the reassuring things about the world, the way it keeps creating. We do, too.

Julie: You're always a breath of fresh air, my dear! Let the music play on.

Liza: Yes, my life is being renewed, and, thank you, I am okay.

Jemi: Wow. Just wow. Thank you!

Lovely images and words on spring. One of your best haikus on the post below too. It's good to see you back to poetry, perhaps as your way through grief.
